A sustainable, scalable approach to factory upgrading

The Factory Improvement Toolset (FIT) supports manufacturers in global supply chains to improve productivity, competitiveness and working conditions by upgrading production systems and factory practices. FIT has been developed to be a sustainable, time- and cost-efficient option for supporting factories to enhance productivity through improved business practices.

For aspiring entrepreneurs and micro/small business owners

Developed to reach aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners in underserved ‘hard-to-reach’ communities, the ILO’s C-BED programme supports vulnerable and marginalized communities to start or improve existing businesses for better livelihoods.

Enabling youth entrepreneurs

Ready for Business (R4B) was jointly developed by the ILO together with the International Training Centre and the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan. The programme supports vulnerable youth that would like to develop the entrepreneurial skills needed to start their own business, creating decent jobs for themselves and others.

For micro and small tourism entrepreneurs and operators

Up to 296 million SMEs in South and Southeast Asia are not currently served by conventional business development and support services. The ILO’s SBC tools provide tourism entrepreneurs and those who work with them guidance on how to establish, run and improve their business operations

Growing the co-operative movement 

Our.COOP is a training programme developed for those interested in the cooperative movement.The training programme consists of three packages in total, corresponding to different stages in the life of a cooperative – conception, establishment, and management.
