The Cambodia Entrepreneurship Day 2020 (CED) event changed a life of Pich Muong. Through the event, he learned about business plan development, marketing, leadership and team development. He formed a group with five friends and developed a business idea to develop a hydroponic system for safe and eco-friendly vegetable farming. The group members met weekly for one month in August to learn basics of business using ILO’s Ready-for-Business tool and developed a business plan. He was very especially grateful to have the opportunity to think of solutions for social problems as a team. He said, “Participation is the first step of everything for success. You never get a chance if you never try.”

After the CED, he was invited to various events as an aspiring youth of the generation to share his experiences on entrepreneurship and self-development. He also took part in hackathon and  mathematical skills development programmes to advance his skills. He says, “My goal is to establish a social enterprise which will play a crucial role for better society. I also dream to become an expert of computer science to solve social problems with information and technology”

The Cambodia Entrepreneurship Day is an initiative organized by MoEYS and ILO on annual basis, with support from Government of Japan, Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation, Khmer Enterprise, USAID, Pact Cambodia, Wing Bank, Smart Axiata, UNIDO, UNV, Pizza Company,  Techo Start-up Centre, Asia Foundation, Impact Hub, and various stakeholders. The initiative will continue and expand with support from more partners.
