The Cambodia Entrepreneurship Day (CED) has been celebrated every year on September 21, when over 4000 youth take part in entrepreneurship trainings nationwide and develop business plans for competition. The Day has started in 2017 when Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport acquired the World Guinness Record for the world’s Largest Practical Business Seminar. Since then, over 17,000 youth had received the trainings and raised awareness on entrepreneurship.

Ten said, “Cambodia Entrepreneurship Day taught me digital skills. Now I run a small online business using the skills I learned.” The ILO’s activity-based learning programme used in the CED event increased her interest in social engagement. After the event, she volunteered for Women and Children’s Enhancive Leadership Center to support vulnerable women and children in Cambodia.

Her motivation and aspiration never stop. She is now learning advanced digital skills on video editing, graphic design, social media marketing and livestreaming. She also dreams to study law and pharmacy in university in the future.

The Cambodia Entrepreneurship Day is an initiative organized by MoEYS and ILO on annual basis, with support from Government of Japan, Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation, Khmer Enterprise, USAID, Pact Cambodia, Wing Bank, Smart Axiata, UNIDO, UNV, Pizza Company,  Techo Start-up Centre, Asia Foundation, Impact Hub, and various stakeholders. The initiative will continue and expand with support from more partners.
